Overview
We offer peel testing to measure seal strength as per ASTM F88-09 “Standard Test Method for Seal Strength of Flexible Barrier Materials”. This method is used for flexible barrier materials where the substrates are pulled apart until complete separation. By clamping the two substrates against a steel plate, the adhesive bond can be measured as one layer is removed by a load cell. The bond usually takes the form of a thin layer between the two substrates. The results help identify the adhesive strength of the material and/or the adhesive bond, and therefore its suitability for the application.
